UKG Onboarding Integration: Create Accounts Before Day One

Connect to AD now integrates with UKG Onboarding. That brings the same automation and consistency you already get from UKG Pro sync to the very first stage of the employee lifecycle.
Instead of waiting for an employee record to reach UKG Pro, Connect to AD can create accounts, assign permissions and apply your configuration rules while the new hire is still going through onboarding. When onboarding finishes, the same user moves into the UKG Pro environment without anyone rebuilding the account. Data stays accurate, and HR and IT both save time.
How it works
Connect to AD connects to the UKG Onboarding API over a secure connection, using credentials provided by UKG. Once connected, it scans onboarding records and picks out the people who match the filters in your configuration. Only records that meet your criteria are processed.
At the same time, it checks your target directory, Active Directory or Entra ID, for an existing account with a matching linking attribute:
If a match is found, the account is updated with any new information from the onboarding record.
If no match is found and your provisioning rules are met, a new account is created automatically.
From onboarding to UKG Pro
When the record moves into UKG Pro and receives its permanent employee ID, Connect to AD automatically:
Updates the linking attribute
Removes the onboarding link
Transfers the user to the UKG Pro environment
From that point on, the account stays in sync with UKG Pro like every other employee, through job changes and, eventually, offboarding.
Notifications at every step
Just like standard synchronization, Notifications keep IT, HR and managers updated as accounts are created and changed during onboarding. Managers know when their new hire’s account is ready, and nobody has to chase IT for login details.
